IKEA Coming to Cyprus

The Cyprus branch of International home furnishings stores IKEA will be opening its doors in Nicosia on September 6.

During a news conference held at the Hilton earlier this week, members of the media were introduced to the Fourlis Group, the group responsible for bringing IKEA to the island. The Management Team of the Fourlis Group and House Market spoke about their vision of creating a better everyday life for every single family and person in Cyprus. The Swedish brand is renowned for its excellent quality, design and above all affordable products, which include a massive range of about 6,500 different items.
Some 300,000 IKEA Maxi Brochures are currently being delivered to each household.

IKEA will be located in the Shacolas Emporium Park in Latsia and will employ over 300 people, all trained and experienced in the area of home furnishing. The store will include a restaurant, serving Swedish and international cuisine, and a dedicated play area for young children, as well as specially equipped areas for mothers and their newborns.

IKEA has half a billion consumers visiting its 260 stores in over 35 countries, earning its reputation as a global household brand.

The Swedish furniture giant prides itself in its philosophy of ‘honest pricing’: “You do your part, we do our part and together we save money,” said officials at the news conference.

They added that IKEA maintained a fixed international consumer based policy, ensuring that prices remain the same, and “as low as possible” in all branches throughout the year. The products of the Cyprus store are priced like those of Greece and the store itself will cover an area of 20,000 sq metres.
